I'd spent about two months at another German academy in my home country, but I decided to switch — and that's how I started with Berndt Education, right at the very beginning of my journey. That turned out to be the most helpful part.
My biggest challenge before was that my previous classes had too much Spanish. Spanish is my mother tongue, and the lessons were a mix of Spanish and German with a lot of Spanish — I didn't find that helpful. With Berndt Education, the classes were only in German. At the start that's a bit of a shock and harder to follow, but you improve really quickly, because you start thinking only in German for the whole lesson. You don't have a choice — you either try, or you won't understand — and that's exactly what made the difference.
What I loved was that my teacher always found a way to explain things clearly and simply while still speaking German. So you'd actually notice how fast you were progressing, and that was incredibly motivating."

Sada Educational Center (صدى — “echo”) is a non-profit in Kuwait dedicated to children with cochlear implants and hearing impairments. Founded in 2009, its close-knit team of speech-language pathologists, teachers and therapists tailor-makes a programme for every child — teaching through play, patience and evidence-based practice to internationally recognised standards, and providing every service completely free to families.
Its vision is as simple as it is profound: to give a voice to every child, and to help children who are deaf or hard of hearing take their full place in school and society — a father's dream of one day hearing his son recite, made real at graduation.
