I'd spent about two months at another German academy in my home country, but I decided to switch — and that's how I started with Berndt Education, right at the very beginning of my journey. That turned out to be the most helpful part.
My biggest challenge before was that my previous classes had too much Spanish. Spanish is my mother tongue, and the lessons were a mix of Spanish and German with a lot of Spanish — I didn't find that helpful. With Berndt Education, the classes were only in German. At the start that's a bit of a shock and harder to follow, but you improve really quickly, because you start thinking only in German for the whole lesson. You don't have a choice — you either try, or you won't understand — and that's exactly what made the difference.
What I loved was that my teacher always found a way to explain things clearly and simply while still speaking German. So you'd actually notice how fast you were progressing, and that was incredibly motivating."

We work with a small number of families each year so that each one gets more of us. A lead counsellor looks after your family personally, with a team that includes former admissions officers, guiding strong candidates towards the Ivy League, Oxbridge and leading universities across the UK, the US and Europe. When your child applies in more than one country, one team runs the whole plan, and our own language teachers prepare your child for the IELTS, Goethe or DELE certificate a university may ask for.
